Parks - Outdoor Training  


Who wants to be stuck indoors in a sweaty air conditioned gym, when you could be outside in the fresh air?! Some of us spent up to 95% of our days inside, YUK!!
Here are some of the benefits of training outside:

• Much more challenging – by working harder with uneven surfaces and the natural elements, especially the wind!
• Burns more calories – Up to 20% more in some workouts!
• Better for the lungs – fresh air and oxygen delivery is much better for you outside than in sweaty, bacteria infested air-conditioned gyms, even in a city!
• Improves your core - uneven surfaces mean you have to use your balancing and core skills more during the whole workout, how good is that?!!
• Makes you stronger – A press up using your own body weight (over a chest press in the gym) uses the chest shoulders and triceps, BUT ALSO, your core, glutes and legs - double whammy!
• Is equipment and cost free – meaning you can take what you do within the workout and do it anywhere; holiday, business trip… no excuses!
• Helps to energise you – using the energy of the natural elements can help fuel you and motivate you, we excel being outside!
• Provides us with a vitamin D hit – helping us maintain strong and healthy bones by retaining calcium, not to mention a healthy glow!
• Gives us natural light - light is crucial to our biorhythms our sense of wellbeing and every process in the body – especially good for SAD sufferers!
• Increases physical awareness and vitality - when body is in touch with the ground, it works better with the earth’s magnetic field by tapping in to the health giving properties of the earth, think about it!
• Reduces diseases - we underestimate the influence natural phenomena play on our bodily functions. Most of us are indoors more and more and just look at disease rates. Help yourselves to reach your potential!
• Nurtures you - we underestimate the power of Mother Nature, from light, to air, to gravitational pull. The effects from Mother Nature are always going to be beneficial to us. Feel the force!!!
• Sets you free – especially when living in a concrete city, get out there!
• Nourishes your soul – being around plants, flowers, animals and birds really is good for the soul and can help put modern day stresses into perspective, its not worth it!
