Health
and fitness have been a life long passion for me ever since
I did my first gym workout while at secondary school. I
remember how great it made me feel afterwards. From then
on I never looked back. I was hooked! I loved training and
it was to be an essential part of my life. After leaving
the police service in 1995, I decided to pursue a career
in the fitness industry and during 1996-97 achieved an NVQ
LEVEL 2 in sport and recreation including gym instructor
award and RSA exercise to music (aerobics instructor) award.
After
working as a pool lifeguard, duty manager and fitness class
instructor at Streatham Pool south London for 2 years, I
went on to become a full time fitness consultant for Harpers
Fitness at Flax Man Sport Centre South London. In 2000 I
joined L.A Fitness and began work as a senior instructor/personal
trainer and enjoyed great success with my clients one-to-one
and in fitness classes, which included "Spinning",
"Tighter assets" and "Aqua aerobics".
In
November 2002 I decided to take a brief career break and
went on to complete my studies at The American College Of
Sports Medicine (ACSM) achieving the Personal Trainer certification,
which is regarded as the international gold standard for
trainers worldwide. I have recently completed the 'Wright
Foundation GP Exercise Referral Qualification'.
I
am currently working for Bladerunner managing a corporate
fitness centre.
